The Queens of Our Future program was launched at the beginning of 2017, following a discussion with Ms. Cherrilan Perryman of New York. Ms. Perryman shared her vision for the event 'Elegance Meets Royalty' and through constant contact and lengthy discussions, the Queens of Our Future program was launched. Over the next few months, the pilot program was developed and launched, working with young ladies chosen based on personal knowledge by those involved in the program's execution. In the end, ten young ladies were chosen to complete the program.
On August 6th, 2017, the ladies logged on to the first virtual session hosted by Evangelist Christine Nicholls, author of the book "I Found The Worth In Me", the second session was hosted by volunteers of the Ammar Empowerment Network entitled "I Am Worth It!" Over the next two weeks, the ladies were treated to sessions by Mrs. Alison Biscette-Glasgow, Melinda Belle and Zhané Padmore on entrepreneurship. They were also taught on leadership by Ms. Alison Holder of TenStep East Caribbean Ltd. along with sessions on public speaking and etiquette.
During this time, the young ladies were involved in fundraising activities at Sky Mall and in Bridgetown, where they worked together to reach the target needed to execute the program at its maximum potential. By the end of this initial phase, the young ladies were all embracing a new challenge, for all of them, speaking openly in public was a new challenge for them and parents and guardians commented on how much they'd seen the growth in these young ladies.
On the 26th of August, 2017, the ladies journeyed to the Golden Grove Great House, where they spent the day relaxing and lounging by the pool, as they prepared for the night ahead. During the afternoon, the ladies were treated to an exquisite makeup experience sponsored by The Queen Bay Beauty and Girls Night Out International. They were then all clothed in their elegant attire and prepared to enter the evening prepared specially for them.
Joined by friends, family and supporters, the ladies went through the evening where they enjoyed an exquisite meal by the Golden Grove team and were serenaded by none other than Mr. Jaicko Lawrence himself as he was accompained by Mr. Xavier John-Clair. The ladies then took hold of the opportunity to snap as many photos as possible with them as we prepared to make the presentations.
At the end of the evening, each young lady was presented with a special gift consisting of a gift item from one of our sponsors, a necklace from Cultured by Zhané, and a bag of goodies prepared specially by Ms. Cherrilan Perryman. They were also given a certificate of completion and a tiara, as they were presented as the Queens of Our Future.

Back in July of 2014, whilst the strategic plan for the Soar With Eagles Foundation was being written, our founder and Executive Director Ms. Jelissa Edwards traveled to Grenada to take part in the training and launch of a dance ministry there. During this trip, Jelissa was exposed to the great need for a program just like the one she was preparing to launch back home. Her exposture to the youth of the rural areas of Grenada, led to the formation of various relationships across the island, with vows of one day returning to Grenada to launch and execute the Soar With Eagles Foundation.
The time has finally come. After two years of directing the programs of the Soar With Eagles Foundation in Barbados, Jelissa is finally in a position to expand her wings to Grenada. On June 10th, 2017, Jelissa, along with Executive Assistant Ms. Rachel Walcott, will be heading to Grenada where they will spend two weeks working on the setup of the official structure of Soar With Eagles Grenada.
During these two weeks, the two will be meeting with various potential stakeholders, partners and sponsors, to put the final plans in place to move forward with the implementation of the project. During this time, they will also be seeking to gauge the needs of the nation through a short survey, and seeking a permanent location for the various programs scheduled to be offered.

Thank you for your support!
The students of the Common Entrance Class of the Soar With Eagles Foundation were treated to a special road trip to two of Barbados' premier attractions as a reward for all of their hard work throughout the year in preparation for the examination, and as a means of encouragement as they prepare to sit the examination on the 3rd of May, 2016. The foundation partnered with Harrison's Cave Barbados and Atlantis Submarines to provide an unforgettable experience for participants of the program, whilst offering them an opportunity to learn a bit more about the island they call home.
Children, along with directors Jelissa Edwards and Anderson Toppin, faithful and dependable volunteer Juliette Edwards and administrative director Karon Desrivieres, who was in charge of the execution and planning of the particular activity, gathered at 8:30a.m. at Kingdom Life Ministries, Farm Road, St.Peter, where our classes were held for the past year. We were able to source a rental from Cruise Control Barbados and take a scenic route up to Harrison's Cave where we were treated to their new and improved cave experience. One of the students commented that the elevators in particular reminded her of Jurassic World the movie!
After a very memorable tour, we took another long, scenic ride down to the Shallow Draft, where we eagerly collected our boarding passes for what turned out to be a phenomenal underwater experience, filled with laughter and many many oohs and aahs. Atlantis Submarines were more than hospitable in their service, providing comforting words to the children who were afraid of the movements of the water and the depth of the waters, ensuring them that there would always be someone there looking out for us to make sure everything went well. After this trip we received a picture in a beautiful Atlantis frame which we will be sure to place in the Soar With Eagles office for everyone to see.
Lunch for the event was sponsored by Jordan's Supermarket who offered us a wide range of groceries for us to choose from for the preparation of lunch. Our mouth watering feast was then prepared by Karon Desrivieres and Juliette Edwards bright and early Saturday morning before the sun was even up! On our way from the Shallow Draft we popped into Cooke's Finest Cafe, 1st Floor, Norman's Centre, The City; to collect a special treat. Cupcakes! By the time we reached Folkestone Marine Park and Reserve yesterday afternoon, and the children had lunch, spent their time in the park and came back for snacks, when they found out that there were cupcakes, they were gone within seconds, with no chance for photos!
All in all, everyone had an enjoyable and unforgettable day, filled with lots of laughter, loads of fun and many well wishes for those sitting the examination. We must say a big thank you to all of our partners for this particular trip and we look forward to see what this upcoming year holds. We want to say Best of luck to all persons sitting the Common Entrance Examination and may our Lord and Saviour bring you all the comfort and grace needed before you enter the examination to calm any nerves you may have, and then to grant you success as you sit.
Welcome to the new and improved Soar With Eagles Foundation!
In an effort to serve our participants and supporters even better, we have taken a fresh look at our presentation and the way in which we execute each program. As a result, we have developed new and improved ways to not only reach more candidates but to ensure that our present students have all they need to succeed. Stay tuned throughout the year as we implement further changes and continue to work around the clock to bring a much needed change within our communities and in turn, our nation. We thank you for your continuous support and we look forward to working with you in the future.
The Soar With Eagles Team.
