SMTP (mail delivery)
I can help clarify the reasons for non-delivery of
SMTP mail, regardless of platform.
On platforms that are Unix-based Sendmail, I can usually help figure
out malfunctioning server behavior, as long as the sendmail configuration
is not highly customized.
Under Development:
I am going to offer secondary MX services in the near future. Key points
of my secondary MX service are:
Spammers love dumping to secondary MX machines; they know that they are
not likely to get the network owner's attention as quickly by doing it that
way. I am going to change the way my servers work so that they will reject
mail that is delivered this way, yet still do the intended job of storing
and forwarding email when the primary mail server is unavailable. My solution
probably breaks a few RFC's, but I don't care; many of the RFC's were written
when the internet had fewer integrity-impaired users.
Users will have access to a web interface with which they can add their
new domains to my secondary MX servers, without my direct assistance.
Users will be able to adjust the behavior of my custom servers' handling
of their mail through the web interface, turning the anti-spam feature
off (or back on), should it be needed.
