Internet Access for Businesses
I can help you choose and set up all aspects of internet service for your business. This includes your own internet connection, network security implementation, email, domain name(s), workstations, and servers as needed. My network and server design uses primarily RedHat Linux for server applications, and a Microsoft operating system for the workstations (but we CAN use RedHat Linux for the workstations if you want - - it is, after all, free. With Windows you will need to buy a site license from Microsoft to be positively safe, in case Microsoft audits you).

Websites
I design web sites for businesses that do not sell their products directly over the internet (shopping carts), and do not need special applications such as online databases and complicated web forms (I suggest for businesses that need this kind of website to contact Barry Zettlemoyer at 1USA.com , as he is a specialized E-commerce web developer).

Pricing:

Development fee: $25 per hour of development, the average website takes 4 - 5 hours to create. This includes on-site photography for most businesses. Most web designers charge $50 - $100 per hour, but I can afford to do it for less because I am currently a home-based business, and I pass the savings of my low overhead to you. Development fees are due at the completion of the web design.

Monthly hosting: The files that make up your website have to be kept on a webserver that is connected to the internet. I charge $12 a month to keep your website on my server, billed quarterly. This includes small, infrequent (1 per week) updates to your website. Major redesign work is charged at the normal hourly rate.

Building New Computers (or upgrading existing ones)
For both residential and businesses:

I have a number of pre-designed machines that we can build for you. We can also  customize a machine for your needs. Some of your parts from your existing PC may be usable (which reduces the cost).

All of my machines are designed with both performance and value in mind - - we usually do not waste money on the absolutely-newest parts (which are frequently double the cost of the part that is directly below it and almost identical to it).

Note: Subtract $100 from the price of each machine if you are supplying your own operating system installation CDrom for the operating system install.

PC Consulting (fixing "broken" PC's)

There is an integrity problem among many of the people and companies who service residential (and occasionally, small to medium sized business) PC's. This is well-known among the people who do this kind of work, but is not publicized outside of the immediate circles of consultants and computer repair people. It is even debated among them if as to whether PC repair techs could "make it" without inflating the time spent, and equipment replaced, when doing their work.

I do not participate in this kind of balony. It's just.. not me.

Furthermore, I make most of my money from business support and consulting; this does two things. One, it makes me have no real financial incentive to inflate a repair cost of a PC. Two, it can sometimes keep me too busy to be able to take on a broken PC or imploding windows operating system.

I do not specialize in Windows workstations and am not attempting to become the big, local PC repair tech. However. If someone who is local has a Windows95 or newer machine with problems, and they are willing to work with me in terms of timing on either getting the machine to me or me to the machine (I am usually busy working on other things), I should be able to get it fixed. Fixing Windows workstations is just not so difficult as to require specialization to get the job done.

My rates are: $25/hr if  you bring the machine here, $50/hr if I have to go to you. If I can't fix the problem in the end, I charge 25% of what the normal amount would have been.

I recommend you bring the machine here because I have my working LAN and high-speed internet connection here, which helps me work better.
